About Our Founder
Carol Murray
Lula’s & Flora’s Homestyle Kitchen Rental & Bakery was founded by Carol Murray in 2021. Also the Founder of Frank & Joe’s Coffee House, Carol continued her theme of honoring the City of Wichita Falls and its glorious history and residents. In an effort to acknowledge the spouses of Frank Kell and Joseph Kemp, the original entrepreneurs of Wichita Falls, Carol named the new business after their spouses: Lula, Frank Kell’s wife, and Flora, Joseph Kemp’s wife.
In her early career, Carol spent almost 30 years as a marketing research professional – most recently as a Vice President of Client Services. She held various client service and management positions while conducting a multitude of consumer research studies for large corporations, such as FritoLay, the Brinker International restaurants (Chili’s, On The Border, Maggiano’s), and Walmart, to name a few.
In her later career, Carol pursued entrepreneurship, first as an H&R Block franchise owner in Wichita Falls and Burkburnett for nine years. She managed nine local offices and personally completed more than 7,000 tax returns. Presently, she is the Founder/President of Frank & Joe’s Coffee House with two locations and a Co-Franchise owner of a local hair salon, Primp and Blow, a hair dry bar. Both businesses are family operated.
Carol has been active in a Rotary civic club for 12 years and has served on various non-profit boards, including Zavala and the Senior Citizens Center of Burkburnett. In addition, she is a PTA Life Member and was a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years. As a member of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, Carol mentors a Circuit program entrepreneur and participates on the Government Affairs Committee. Finally, Carol is an active member of the Crime Stoppers Board.
Carol considers herself to be a practical, life-long learner and enjoys continuous challenges and opportunities. She holds an Associate of Arts Degree from North Lake College and a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Degree from the University of North Texas. Carol is currently enrolled in the Master’s of Public Administration degree program at the University of Texas Arlington.
Carol has been married for 35 years, has two grown daughters, three young grandsons, and an adorable beagle named Baylee.
